I love sweet potatoes. They are perfect for the fall as well. A good and healthier alternative to regular fries. Also these will be baked not fried! We will cook these in the oven and then broil them for a little crisp at the end.
Here’s what you’ll need…
2-3 sweet potatoes
Salt, pepper, and Garlic salt
First, place your sweet potatoes in the microwave and cook for about 3-4 mins. This will speed up the process in the oven. Pre Heat your oven to 400.
Once they are cooled a bit, peel off some of the skin. The skin gives a little more flavor if you keep some on.
Slice into thin strips or how ever thick you want them to be.
Place on pan and drizzle with olive oil. Use your adds to mix and make sure they are coated. Add your salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste on top. The more Garlic salt the better I think.
Place your pan in the oven on the Bottom shelf for about 10-15 mins.
Take out and mix around and add a little more olive oil and seasoning if you would like. Place on top shelf and cook for another 10 mins. Take out and mix again. Place them back in and change your oven to broil. This will crisp them up a little bit, about 2 mins or however long you would like them to be to make them crispier.
They should be softer fries when they are done because they are baked and not fried! Enjoy with ketchup or whatever you would like. I serve these with my French Dips or Burgers!
