Mashed Potatoes

Who doesn’t love mashed potatoes. They are one of the finer things in life that just makes you feel like home and defiantly a comfort food! I like to use russet potatoes when I make mashed potatoes. They have great flavor and they are delicious. Mashed potatoes are great just plane, with cheese on them, with gravy, or even green chili! Have fun with them!!!

Here’s what you’ll need……..

3-4 pounds of russet potatoes
2-4 cups of milk- depends how creamy you like
4-8 TBS of butter- again depends on how creamy you want them
salt and pepper to taste

First peel your potatoes under cold water. Its okay to leave a little skin, it gives them more flavor. slice in 1/4ths and put in giant pot of salted water. About 1 teaspoon of salt. Boil in till potatoes can be poked with fork and cut through. 

Drain your potatoes and put back in pot. Now you can either hand mash with a masher or put in your kitchen aid to mash. Make sure to get ut the lumps.

Add your butter and mix, then add you milk, 1 cup at a time, until its creamy enough for your liking. Last add your salt, pepper and i add about 1 tbs of garlic! Fresh is best but powder is ok too!
