Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Honey- Walnut Sauce

If you love cheese like I do, then you have to love a great Brie recipe too. I love making this baked brie for party’s and holidays that are a little more fancy then just your average football party! I make this for Thanksgiving and bring it to a lot of Christmas parties as well! It is always a huge hit and is pretty simple too!!! Enjoy!

( I am going to apologize now that I do not have the step by step pictures for this recipe. They are on my old computer with tons of other recipes but that computer is now broken.. trying to get it fixed. I will post pictures as soon as I can but thankfully the finished product picture was still on my phone! I couldn’t help but blog this now :) !!)

Here’s what you’ll need….

1 sheet of frozen puff pastry ( half of 17 1/4-ounce package) thawed
2 4- ounce wedge Brie each about 6 1/2 inch long by 1 1/2 inch wide at rind end
1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup ( 1/2 stick) butter
3 TBS of honey
1 1/2 teaspoons of minced garlic
2 TBS of chopped Walnuts

Preheat oven to 400 Degrees.

Toll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to form a 12″ square.

Cut diagonally through puff pastry to form 2 triangles. Place 1 brie wedge in center of each triangle, with tip of cheese facing toward the 90 degree angle of triangle. Pull up and fold puff pastry loosely to enclose cheese. Pinch edges to pastry gently to seal together.

Press with fork to seal seams completely. ( I use my strong fingers tho :))

Transfer pastry wrapped brie to baking sheet, seam side up. Brush pastry with egg wash. Bake Brie until Pastry is golden brown about 15-18 minutes! Watch in carefully because if you cook to long all the cheese will come out!

While the Brie cooks, combine the butter, honey and garlic in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until butter melts.

Once the brie is all cooked. Divide sauce on to both triangle squares and sprinkle with your chopped walnuts as well. You can make two separate plates to have in different places for your party or combine both like I did!

Serve with crackers! Yummmmmm
